Description:

Looking for two Senior Level (minimum 5 years of experience) Software Engineers for a project in Olympia, WA to modernize an existing web application that is prone to errors. The current system uses multiple message sending programs that will be modified into a single, modern program using the .Net Framework. You will be responsible for input in the design and development of the new system. Specific tasks will include programming services, unit and integration testing, defect resolution, knowledge transfer, status reports, and support to successfully implement the improvement project.

Requirements:
Senior Level (5 years) experience with the following development tools:

• VB.net
• Web services
• .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5
• SQL 2000/2005, including development of stored procedures
• Visual Studio 2005/2008
• Team Foundation Server
• Windows 2000/Vista Desktop
• MS Office 2007

One or more years experience:

• Effectively applying web services within the Windows Communication Framework (WCF)
• Understanding and coding of AAMVA Federal Messaging Systems

Other Mandatory Qualifications:

• Proven skills in unit, integration and system testing multi-tier applications in a Windows 2000/Vista environment
• Prior experience performing communication path development
• Prior experience assisting with load, stress and performance testing.
• Prior experience of working from technical specifications documentation and writing implementation scripts.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well in written and oral form within various project team environments containing business and technical representatives.

Preferences:

• Knowledge of COBOL and COBOL.Net
• Prior experience modifying and/or enhancing DOL Drivers Headquarters system (DHS) programs
• Prior experience of working from technical specifications documentation and writing deployment/implementation scripts.
• Prior experience working with DOL application development standards, databases, and common components
• Prior experience working with SharePoint Collaboration tool to manage defect status.
• Demonstrated ability to provide the transfer of knowledge to internal DOL programming and technical staff.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well in written and oral form within various project team environments containing business and technical representatives.
• Verifiable history of maintaining excellent, positive, solution-oriented working relationships with clients and customers.
