iPhone Apps For .NET Developers

Hey All, I'm in the process of assembling a one day workshop for the Seattle area called 'iPhone Apps For .NET Developers'. The end goal is essentially what the name says, to take Microsoft .NET developers and get them developing iPhone applications as quickly as possible. We'll accomplish this by focusing on how to translate concepts in .NET development into their counterparts in X-Code and the iPhone SDK. Anyway, I'm just sending this out to gauge the level of interest in the community and get any general feedback you might have. Microsoft's User Research Group is conducting series of studies for SharePoint products and technologies in November and December at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, WA, and is looking for participants in the Puget Sound area

The research team is looking for individuals who use SharePoint at least once a week.

Each participant will receive a gift item they select from a list of some of Microsoft's most popular hardware and software titles.

Are you interested in helping refine and improve software development tools? If you are, then we have a couple of Usability studies that you might be interested in! Microsoft User Research is conducting two studies in the next few weeks to evaluate a new feature of debugging.

Note: It is important for you to know that you do not need to prepare anything to participate in either of these studies. We want to learn from you, the experts, to determine what needs to be improved in our software. We highly value your feedback and will be offering you a gratuity option in appreciation of your time and participation.

Study #1 Dates: September 8 to September 12, 2008

We are recruiting individuals who:

· Have experience developing applications against Exchange 2000, 2003, or 2007

· Develop applications using C# or VB.NET

They say there is no magic bullet in software design but my friend Scott Bain came up with something that I think is pretty close. He recorded a multimedia presentation that describes a simple technique to help you get clues from a problem about what pattern might be useful in determining a design approach. It is based on an interesting experience he had while consulting for a Northwest-based airline.
