I remember the group getting a visual studio release party for the 2008 version, and was wondering if we will get one for 2010. Anybody heard about this yet? Any chance we will get a free version of VS 2010 Pro?

I'm in the process of assembling a one day workshop for the Seattle area called 'iPhone Apps For .NET Developers'. The end goal is essentially what the name says, to take Microsoft .NET developers and get them developing iPhone applications as quickly as possible. We'll accomplish this by focusing on how to translate concepts in .NET development into their counterparts in X-Code and the iPhone SDK. Anyway, I'm just sending this out to gauge the level of interest in the community and get any general feedback you might have. If you have any ideas or would like to participate when it's ready, please email me at jheising@gmail.com

Cheers,

One is a podcast, focused on overcoming impediments in TDD adoption, and around the sustainability of TDD past the first few iterations:

Second, my friend and colleague Scott Bain is doing a free online webinar on Emergent Design, on May 22nd. If you're interested in how patterns, TDD, and refactoring can be used to emerge a design, you might want to sign up to attend:

If anyone is interested in the copy of Office Ultimate 2007 I got at the Code Trip event, I would be willing to swap it for a copy of CodeRush/Refactor. Feel free to contact me.

It was his first time doing this, and he thought it might be valuable to some of you if he shared some of the things he learned about writing a book, and about the publishing world.

So, he wrote a blog entry about it.

I hope some of you find it useful: 'http://www.netobjectives.com/blog/'>http://www.netobjectives.com/blog/ (See Writing and Publishing a Book). BTW, I read Scott’s book and I think it is a must-read for all OO developers.

<wfw:link>http://ssdotnet.org/DesktopModules/Forum/Forum_Rss.aspx?forumid=1&tabid=54&mid=384&threadspage=2</wfw:link>
